What is pyrolysis gasoline (Pygas)?

Pyrolysis gasoline, or Pygas, is a gasoline-range hydrocarbon stream produced as part of steam-cracker operations.

Loading

Loading locations are transaction-specific and subject to allocation.

Storage, stability & handling

Raw Pygas can contain reactive compounds that make storage conditions and residence time commercially important.

Handling requirements should be determined from the cargo assay, stability characteristics, storage duration and buyer's processing route.

Where stabilizer, inhibitor, nitrogen blanketing, temperature limits or other handling controls are required, these must be confirmed against the applicable cargo and terminal procedures rather than assumed as universal requirements.
