What is alkylate?
Alkylate is a refinery-produced hydrocarbon stream used primarily as a component in finished gasoline blending.
Refinery alkylation combines light olefins with isobutane to produce a high-quality paraffinic gasoline blendstock.
Its commercial value comes from its contribution to gasoline octane and its suitability for formulation alongside other blend components.
Alkylate should not be confused with a finished RON 92, RON 95 or RON 98 gasoline cargo. Finished motor gasoline is produced from a controlled blend of components selected to meet the applicable final fuel specification.

02 Grades
Low sulfur & volatility characteristics
Alkylate is commonly valued as a relatively clean gasoline blending stream because it can combine strong octane contribution with favorable sulfur, aromatic and volatility characteristics compared with many alternative blend components.
Actual sulfur content, vapour pressure, aromatics, distillation and other characteristics must nevertheless be verified through the applicable cargo assay and CoA.
Where a buyer is blending toward a specific finished gasoline standard, the required alkylate properties should be defined by the target gasoline formulation rather than assumed from a generic product description.
Alkylate vs reformate
Alkylate and reformate are both high-value gasoline blending components, but they contribute differently to a gasoline pool.
Alkylate is a paraffinic blend component valued for octane contribution and favorable blending characteristics, while reformate is an aromatic-rich refinery stream produced through catalytic reforming and is also used to raise gasoline octane.
They should not be treated as one-to-one substitutes. Blend value depends on octane, RVP, aromatics, benzene, sulfur, density, distillation, oxygenate strategy and the specification of the target finished gasoline.
The appropriate component or blend ratio must therefore be determined from the required finished-fuel specification and the assay of the available streams.
Alkylate vs finished gasoline
Alkylate is not normally sold as a finished road-fuel grade such as RON 92, RON 95 or RON 98 gasoline.
It is one of the components that may be blended with other hydrocarbon streams and, where applicable, oxygenates to produce finished motor gasoline meeting a specified octane and quality standard.

Non-sanctioned origin alkylate
ALGHAF MARINE FZCO can offer non-sanctioned origin alkylate for selected gasoline blending programs and approved destinations.
Origin and loading location are transaction-specific and depend on assay, quality requirements, allocation, destination and shipment window.
Final origin and loading point are confirmed in the applicable commercial offer, SPA and cargo documentation.
Loading location does not by itself determine product origin.

FOB & CIF alkylate supply
FOB alkylate
FOB alkylate supply may be evaluated from the loading location available for the applicable cargo program. Final port, parcel size, laycan and operational requirements are confirmed for each transaction.
CIF alkylate
CIF alkylate supply may be evaluated for approved destinations. Final pricing reflects cargo assay, origin, quantity, loading point, freight, insurance, destination and shipment window.
Loading
Loading locations are transaction-specific and subject to allocation.
Alkylate cargo size & logistics
Alkylate is supplied as a bulk liquid cargo.
Enquiries from 5,000 MT may be evaluated where the applicable allocation and logistics program supports the requested parcel.
Final parcel size, loading window, vessel requirements and operational conditions are confirmed for the individual transaction.
Quality control & independent inspection
Final alkylate quality is confirmed against the contractual specification and cargo-specific CoA or assay.
Independent inspection may be performed by SGS, Bureau Veritas, CCIC or another agreed independent inspection company at the contractual milestone defined in the SPA.
Historical or unrelated inspection reports are not presented as proof of a current contractual alkylate cargo.
