VLSFO 0.5% marine fuel supply overview
ALGHAF MARINE FZCO supplies Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) for international marine fuel transactions under FOB, CIF and STS terms.
Supply is not limited to a single origin, port or bunkering location. Non-sanctioned origin options are available for selected cargo programs, with the applicable execution structure determined according to allocation, volume, vessel requirements, destination and shipment window.
What is VLSFO 0.5% marine fuel?
Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) is a marine fuel category used to meet the IMO global sulfur limit of 0.50% m/m outside areas where stricter sulfur limits apply.
The exact fuel grade and quality parameters are defined in the commercial offer and SPA and confirmed by the applicable cargo-specific CoA. VLSFO may be supplied against the applicable ISO 8217 grade defined in the SPA.
02 Grades
IMO 2020 and sulfur compliance
The IMO global sulfur limit for marine fuel is 0.50% m/m outside Emission Control Areas where a lower applicable sulfur limit may apply.
Vessel operators remain responsible for determining the fuel specification required for the intended voyage, engine configuration and applicable regulatory area.
03 Origin
Non-sanctioned origin VLSFO
Non-sanctioned origin VLSFO is available for selected marine fuel programs where destination rules, charterer requirements, vessel compliance policies or buyer procedures require alternative origin structures.
Depending on allocation, execution may be structured through UAE / Fujairah, ARA, Mediterranean · Egypt, Southeast Asia / OPL, Black Sea or other approved transaction-specific locations.
Final product origin is confirmed through the applicable transaction and cargo documentation and is not inferred solely from the physical loading or STS location.
